Conserve. Protect. Restore.
West Virginia Council of Trout Unlimited
It's all about the trout.

The West Virgnina Council of Trout Unlimited's mission is to Conserve, Protect and Restore the state's trout populations and the watersheds they call home. We carry out that mission through:
- Advocacy for native & wild fisheries
- Research
- Habitat improvement
- Fingerling stocking & relocation
- Youth & community education activities
- Cooperation and partnerships with state & federal agencies, the private sector, and other conservation groups
From the Potomac River on the east to the Ohio River on the West, and from the northern panhandle to the southern coalfields, WVCTU's nine active chapters and 1,600+ members form a vast and effective volunteer network. Feel free to browse our site to learn more about how we carry out our mission, or JOIN TU and become part of the effort to Conserve, Protect and Restore the Mountain State's coldwater resources.
Back The Brookie
West Virginia Back The Brookie is now online. Be sure to check out the new website and visit often.New materials will be added continuously. The most important feature is the educational resources that will be offered through brochures, website links and academic research. WVU has been gracious in offering their graduate student work and select publishings concerning brook trout research in West Virginia for the WV BTB website. Let's get energized about conserving, protecting and restoring the habitat for our official state fish, the native brook trout!
