WVCTU Headlines

Marcellus Shale Activity

WVCTU is watching Marcellus Shale activity closely at the federal, state and local policy creation level. A special committee has been created within the Council to deal specifically with this issue. WVCTU has joined forces with the Sportsman's Alliance for Marcellus Conservation along with all other state TU Councils within the Marcellus region, Federation of Fly Fishers, Izaak Walton League, National Wildlife Federation, Quality Deer Management Association and many other sportsman's groups representing 265,000 hunters and anglers like you that are concerned about how Marcellus drilling may impact our rivers and hunting grounds.

For more information contact Randy Kesling with the Marcellus Committee.

Elk River Sewage Plant Concern

WVCTU is actively engaged in a very real and serious threat to one of the state's most highly regarded wild trout rivers. The proposed treatment plant and site for the headwaters of the Elk River stands to largely threaten the ecology of the river. TU members and other concerned citizens should be actively engaged in the activity of the Pocahontas County Public Service District.

Read the following letter from Council Chairman Larry Orr addressed to the Pocahontas County PSD. Breaking news and discussion on this topic can be seen at WVAngler.com.
